If you put five metal heads in a room with a fridge full of beer the expected results can be mayhem.Add some guitarists, drums and amps and the fact that said headbangers can play the hell out their instruments the result is magical metal mayhem.
It started back in 2012, in Stoughton MA. A suburb of the competitive Boston music scene, you better be good or you're fucked!
When guitarist Ken McKee, drummer Jimmy Norris and vocalist Michael Ferro retooled their band by adding axe shredder Nelson Moore and produced the album “Firebound Manifesto” and quickly followed up with the epic release “Ascending the Monolith”
Through great reviews and interest of local promoters, FFG opened for heavy weights such as Arch Enemy, Saxon, Armored Saint, Jag Pazner and more.
Then COVID, cancer and general calamity threatened to put the band on ice in 2020. Drum tracks were recorded and thru the perseverance Ken and Nelson with newcomer Dan Methe on bass, slowly but surely new material was written. The result is the new offering “Lie Amongst the Mourning Fields”
9 songs that reflect the groups love of Iron Maiden, Opeth, Blind Guardian with their on twists and turns added. Described as progressive power metal, the music is dynamic while retaining a sharp focus. From the theatrical opener “Motionless” to the brutality of “Slam Pig” and the Kinetic energy of “Bleak Past” this latest collection of songs offers something for all lovers of heavy metal music (sub genres be damned!)
